Color Theory: Metallic Shine for Spring, Time to Shine!

Shine! For Spring, Ralph Rucci, Altuzurra, Diane Von Fursteng, Jason We and other designers have shown little bit of metallic looks into their collections. 

Very cool hue of metallic look! It's so innovative to see cool tone of metallic fabric. Versace's Spring RTW runway definitely showed new and fresh look to the Spring.

It was very interesting to see both feminine silhouette yet bold medium of the dress.

This tile looking fresh design is by Tom Ford. This design shows very strong sense which gives the perfect match with metallic. Also the mosaic looking fabric made his runway more fun.

Mix matching with gold and silver! It can be known as the basic for metallic looks. But Saint Laurent's SS runway showed various way to mix match the metallic items. This gorgeous dress seems more lustrous due to the folds/ wrinkles on the waist line. 

Very pop color! It is another look of metallic. Purple, silver and royal blue goes together perfect! This metallic, shinny look and the colors come as one chic style. Also, we can guess by the choices of color and style that it is from Lanvin. 

Somewhat antique, yet modern design by Savatore Ferragamo's runway showed bit of metallic look in his own way. It was very interesting to see the trend that had been interpreted in his idea.

Red and HOT pink shinny look is by Lanvin. Like the previous look, this look also gives wild, tough, yet romantic atmosphere.

Anything Else?

In addition, if the whole thing about going metallic is too much for you, there is another way to follow the trend! Accessories can be the way of emphasizing with the minimized item.  Pop colors of metallic shoes! This can be the definite emphasize on your outfit! Following trend yet it is not too much! Especially this red pump by Roger Vivier gives sexy and romantic sense.

For Spring which have just started, let's not stick with old floral, girly prints and colors!

Trend Report: White Washed in Paris

Monochromatic white has taken over the streets of Paris as bloggers and fashion editors alike mix textures and tones to achieve stunning white washed looks. 

The thinnest of striped palazzo pants make a lavish statement paired with an ivory cream, fur-trimmed coat and a tousled bun.

Simplicity at its finest, an all white ensemble comprised of a silk blazer and fluted mini direct the focus straight to the black-and-white checker heels.

Quilting isn't just for the bedding. This quilted ivory sweatshirt skirt set sends a strong message – perfection in casual chic. The texture in the quilted textile gives the outfit a relaxed, yet chicly structured look finished off with a statement cross body bag.

Elegance is the key. White palazzo cut at the exact perfect length for optimum height illusions give this look all the elegance in the world. The structured top, metallic gold collar, and casual anorak are just the extra cherries on top.

This perfectly tailored dress strikes the precise chord between polished and edgy. With a flair of Chanel influence, circa Spring 2013, this delicately tailored frock pairs wonderfully with a tough pair of printed platform oxfords.

COLOR THEORY: Mellow vs. Bold

For Spring 2014, the runways have shown quiet a huge gamut of colors. It is very familiar for us to see glamorous pastel for Spring time. However, bold and primary color seems very innovative and fresh for Spring! 

Look of this dress resembles somewhat petals of a flower giving very feminine but cool feelings due to light tone of blue. It surely reminds us of sweet warm breeze in the Spring. by Oscar de la Renta

Lavender color but shiny texture makes this fresh and new. Spring is when all the flowers wake up and this pastel hue gives blooming, and dreamy atmosphere of flowers busting out. by Prabal Gurung

 Philosophy showed candy-like pastel colors giving lively, yet sweet feelings to it. The beauty of this pastel color that shows in this is that this mint color gives warm and feminine sense, yet this color is under cool hue pallet.

 

This variety of pastel colors by DKNY resembles cotton candy! This runway show totally shows the soft colors for the Spring 2014.

Here it comes the BOLD! This collection by Ralph Lauren shows the bold bred monochromatic look on Spring 2014 runway. It is definite showing the strong primary color.

This  pure yellow hue gives similar atmosphere of mellow pastels. Vera Wang represented the vivid primary color but in the same time gave feminine look that resembles spring!

Strong Primary Pallets together, but not too much! Here, Celine gives very interesting bold colors in one garment.  

Chanel shows amazing dress that has colors of primary hues. Very interesting, innovative, and fun. Colors making harmonious yet live!

Trend Report: Boyfriend in New York

In the city streets of New York Fashion Week, the boyfriend has taken over – the boyfriend look, that is. Baseball caps and beanies, distressed boyfriend jeans, oversized outerwear, rugged overalls, and masculine kicks is what it's all about this winter season.

Dressed head to toe in a cool color palette of different shades of blue, this gal has got the look down from her light wash distressed boyfriend jeans and clean white sneakers to her multi tone wool coat.

From her fingerless gloves to her seemingly worn-in bomber jacket, reminiscent of elementary school play dates, her nonchalant attitude is the perfect finish to her cool, masculine look.

Typically the only place you'd see overalls and Timberland boots together is on a construction site, but this season has redefined the once greasy look into one of class and cool.

From her 

Tailored pants, collared shirt, and oversized coat in all rich wool textiles, with oxford leather boots. A straight-up, masculine look centered around the classically chic, oversized statement coat.

A leather jumpsuit topped off with a masculine wool blazer and tousled blonde locks. 

Effortless. Elegant. Cool.

This look is centered around layers on top of layers. Her slim cut trousers are paired with a casual hoodie and two knee-length coats, serving the dual purpose of style and warmth. An olive beanie keeps the look relaxed and nonchalant.

   

These masculine ensembles have a lot of look, centering on the grayscale maxi-length outerwear.

According to Lucky magazine's Winter Street Style, "opting for maxi-length outerwear is smart for two reasons: not only is it undeniably dramatic, but it also gives you a little more leeway when it comes to what you later underneath." 

Mix a little feminine chicness to an otherwise masculine outfit and you've got a street style show stopper.
