MAGIC Las Vegas 2014

I had the privilege to attend MAGIC in Las Vegas last week! It was an amazing experience to walk around in the world that we all love and crave so much!

For those new into the fashion world, MAGIC is a market show for vendors, sourcers, buyers, designers, upcoming designers, speakers, and students. It is also broken down into certain areas so that categories of the vendors, designers, and sourcers were easily found by the buyers.

Areas with in the MAGIC Market week: WWDMAGIC, SOURCING, FN PLATFOM, WSA@MAGIC, PROJECT,THE TENTS, ENKVEGAS, POOL TRADESHOW, & MAGIC MENS.

When I first walked in being a newbie the whole market was a little overwhelming. We first walked into WSA@MAGIC, which was fast fashion shoes! This area was my least favorite because it was very repetitive. A few of the main vendors there were Qupid, Soda, and Stella.

FN PlATFORM was amazing! All the best shoe vendors such as Jeffery Campbell, Aldo, Steve Madden (All lines), Betsey Johnson, Keds, Sketchers, Report, Uggs, and Toms were the big booths. With in this area it was just awesome to see all the innovative designers coming up with new styles of shoes and the textiles/ materials they used.

SOURCING was a eye opening experience to see where the cut and sew manufactures are over seas. What kind of buttons they use to the trim of the lace on a shirt. They were from all over too. Main countries were China, Taiwan, India, and Korea. It was also cool to see the vendors shopping the sourcing that created the samples we were looking at.

WWD MAGIC focuses on juniors and young contemporary. A few main designers/brands would be Freepeople, Miss Me, YMI, LoungeFly, Dollhouse, and BCBGeneration. The majority of the vendors were based on fast fashion.

PROJECT, THE TENTS, ENKVEGAS were all in the same location and were based on higher designers, premium denim, contemporary wear. This area was very unique visually, the props and sitting areas alone each had a fun, nature like vibe. The booths were more private and reserved. All the designers had appointments scheduled with the buyers. UNIF, Wild Fox, Splendid, Junk Food, True Religions, L.A.M., Dolce Vita, Lacoste, Levi's, ect.

POOL TRADESHOW was up coming vendors/designers that are trying to find someone to invest in their ideas. This area was hands down my favorite because it was very inspirational and creative. People at the booths were very passionate and believe in what they have created.

  1. Hey it is just brilliant. I loved all of these photos. Keep sharing such posts here. Anyways, we are also planning to throw surprise party for our grandfather and would like to book suitable LA event venues for the vintage themed bash. Could anyone here help to find a nice location?
